Personal Statement

I believe that every person has the capacity to learn, and it is the job of a tutor to help the student discover how he or she learns best. I have extensive experience in education, and have viewed the individual progress of my students from the vantage point of a classroom teacher and a tutor, and know first hand how vital a good tutor can be to a student's academic development. As a tutor, I tailor instructional techniques to the individual needs of the student, and incorporate a variety of activities to help spark a love of learning and increase motivation. I focus on both content knowledge and specific skills (study, organization, etc) as needed.
