Qualifications

I have taught math at the lower division (college) level since 2000, as a graduae teaching assistant (while earning the masters degree) and as adjunct faculty. I've taught Fundamentals of Arithmetic, Beginning Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Tigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Survey of Calculus. I have also tutored privately and in a math resource lab.

I love teaching and tutoring. Some of the most delightful experiences in my life have come when students, many of whom say "I can't do math!" or "I'm just not a math person", find that they CAN do math, and do it well. It's exciting to see that self esteem grow. I very much believe that an instructor and / or tutor must provide a supportive environment for students. My teacher assessments have always been very high from my students. As to availability, I'll do what works for you - in person, via email, online, or phone. (I will call you at a time we agree on. I pay a flat fee for long distance, so tutoring over the phone doesn't cost more.) I can meet days, evenings, or weekends. I do ask that, once we've agreed to work together, we set a schedule and keep to it. This is both for my benefit and for the student's benefit. Consistency really is important.
