I have been tutoring and working in the tutor-learner environment for 2 years now and have loved and learned so much from it! I began tutoring with the Literacy Volunteer Program as an ESL tutor and enjoyed enlightening others of my language and culture. There, I developed the basic skills needed to become an effective tutor. When teaching, I always start at the most elementary level possible to both see what areas my learner needs help and gain confidence before covering more challenging subjec
