I began teaching in the Peace Corps in Kenya, and have since worked in South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I have also taught in New York and San Francisco. I received my undergraduate degree in English from New York University, and a Master’s from Columbia University. My work as a poet and writer appears in many literary magazines
