I was born in America to a German family that no longer spoke German. I learned it in school, and loved it so much that I earned a Ph.D. in it. I’ve learned other languages as well, and I continue to learn more about German and other languages because it is a rollicking adventure! As someone who did not growing up speaking German, I have approached this quest from the outside and worked my way in, and I know how to guide others on this journey. In my professional life, I have taught German grade
