Most of the time my students fall into two groups: those who already know they are or can be good at math and those who don’t. Either way, my aim is to build students’ confidence in their math ability as well as their belief in the accessibility of different math principles. A lot of times there is something very small that students have missed and, as a detail-oriented tutor, I jump on the opportunity to tell the student the principle and how to properly use it.
